Science fiction on screen has a different kind of power.
A book can spend pages building an idea. A movie or television series can drop you into a new world in seconds, with a skyline, a machine, a creature, or a single impossible image that immediately changes the rules.
This section is where I explore the science fiction movies, shows, franchises, and strange little discoveries that are worth spending time with.
Some are built around massive civilizations, alien wars, and collapsing empires. Others are much more personal, using the future to ask questions about memory, identity, faith, technology, family, power, sacrifice, and what happens when humanity creates something it does not fully understand.
You will find reviews, recommendations, franchise guides, watch lists, deeper dives into themes and storytelling, and looks back at older films and series that still have something interesting to say.
I am less interested in simply deciding whether something is “good” or “bad” and more interested in what made it work, where it stumbled, what ideas it was reaching for, and whether any of those ideas stayed with me after the credits rolled.
Because the best science fiction does more than entertain us with the future.
It gives us something to think about when we come back.
It looks like nothing was found here!
